ARTIST STATEMENT
These collages of luminescent, textured surfaces-using thinly layered cloth, paper and paint- are my view of intimate landscapes. Often the images are suggested by photographs taken while traveling. I am fascinated by the most insignificant piece of paper and scraps of cloth. I am really painting with these elements and the work completes itself activated by the materials. I reach for a sensibility and delicacy that evolve from my feeling that it is the little things in life that need to be examined closely.
